Hello!
This is a new LiveJournal I made (formerly mikesusername). It is nothing but vegan recipes that I have created. Add me if you want occasional vegan recipes that are mostly from scratch to appear on your friend's page!
The first one is
Vegan French Toast (makes 4-8 pieces, depending on bread size)
Ingredients: 3/8 cup of flour (i.e. slightly less that half a cup) 1/8 cup of nutritional yeast 1/2 cup of soymilk (or rice, almond, etc) Up to 1/2 cup of water or additional soymilk 1/2 tsp cinnamon* 1/4 tsp nutmeg* 1 tsp vanilla extract* 2-4 tsp unbleached sugar* 4-8 pieces of your favorite bread 1/2 tsp margarine or vegetable oil for each slice
*Adjust all spices, etc to taste.
Directions: - Put flour and nutritional yeast into a square container (I use a 7" X 7" tupperware container) - Slowly add the first 1/2 cup of soymilk and stir with a whisk or fork - As needed, add up to additional 1/2 cup of liquid until batter is kind of liquid, but not watery, and there are no lumps. - When desired consistency is reached, add remaining ingredients (besides margarine and bread) - Turn burner onto medium or medium-high, and let a frying pan heat up. Add first 1/2 tsp margarine. - Dip one piece of bread in mixture, letting both sides get coated but not drenched. Place in pan for a couple minutes, flip or add more oil when necessary. Finished piece should be browned but not burned on each side. - Repeat until all batter is used and/or desired amount of toast is made.
Enjoy!
